Westerners have
been flocking to yoga’s birth land in droves - but why go to India? Do the
seekers find what they’re looking for? Mimi Rosetti found more than she
possibly imagined. YogaDork recently sat down to hear her extraordinary
story.
Like many Westerners, Mimi was setting off on an adventure to learn from the
modern day masters. What stands Mimi apart from the well-toned and
muscular seekers of self-discovery; several surgically fused vertebrae and a
steel rod running up her spine to start, the result of an operation she
underwent at 16 after being diagnosed with scoliosis. For her trip, Mimi had signed on to study in the medical classes offered by BKS Iyengar's Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institutein Pune to learn more about her own body, and the functionality of the spine through her practice... READ MORE |
